About the Oscillation Festival
Oscillation is New Mexico's electronic music festival, with its home in Albuquerque, NM. The longest running of its kind in the Southwest, Oscillation has been in existence since 2001. Over two nights in November, Oscillation showcases local and national electronic music talent of all walks and sounds, including Industrial, Live electronics, DJs, Experimentalists, Synthpop, Intelligent Dance music and the many genres in-between.
Oscillation is a safe, all-ages, alcohol and drug free event, held at The Cell Theatre in beautiful Downtown Albuquerque. Every year the Oscillation production crew works with Cell Theatre Staff to create an audio-visual experience like none other. Over 5,000 watts of sound are brought into the venue and operated by local professional sound engineers. Visuals are provided by Mediapathic, a San Francisco based Video Jockey and Artist. The event is video taped and audio recorded as well as streamed via the internet. Raffles are held throughout the night, giving away music, software and goods from local businesses. Software demos and workshops are held, and local artists sell and showcase their work to festival-goers. A large merchandise table encompasses the many wares each band/artist has for sale.
Talent showcased at Oscillation over the years has included, but is not limited to, nationally-known acts such as The Echoing Green, Leiahdorus, Diverje, Vertigo Venus, brian botkiller, zRAM, Raine Vivian and more. Each night of Oscillation features at lest ten acts, each with a varied and individual sound.
Promotion for the festival includes:
- 5,000 High-Gloss Flyers distributed throughout all of New Mexico
- A strong web presence on Myspace, YouTube, Blogs, Message Boards and beyond.
- Interviews with festival founders and radio play of musicians at the festival on both analog and internet radio.
- Press releases to every press outlet in New Mexico, which includes ten major newspapers and local magazines.
- Features in local press outlets with photos, interviews and beyond.
Past Oscillation sponsors have included Red Bull, KeyToSound, DSPB records and Music Go Round. Sponsorship includes logo placement on flyers, press releases, web presence and any and all festival promotional materials. Sponsorship in all forms is welcomed!
The Oscillation festival is the showcase of electronic music in the Southwest. No other festival offers the diversity of Oscillation, nor the dedication to the electronic music scene. Oscillation will continue to be a powerful force in electronic music, constantly evolving to create a new and exciting outlet for the music that needs to be heard, seen and acknowledged.
It should be said that Oscillation was founded by a few core members: Sara (Vladmira, also Foundress of Euphoria At Pulse, Mysterium, and many other industrial/goth/electro outlets in New Mexico), Chris (Basketweaver), Ken Cornell and Kentifyr. These are the folks that began the journey that has been Oscillation. Those that have continued to carry the torch are brian botkiller, Ken and Kent, but always with the help of Keith, Steen, Keary, and a huge crowd of bands, festival goers and supporters too long to mention.
